COMPETITIVE DIVISION RULE CHANGE

The Pete Kokinis Baseball League always has the best interest of the players in mind. We have changed the lineup rule to allow teams in the Competitive Divisions (Junior Red and Senior Red) to decide if they want to play a game with a lineup that conforms to NFHS rules or use continuous batting with free substitution (pitching rules still apply).

If you have any questions, please contact any League Director or Supervisor.

FALL BALL 2020

FALL BALL 2020

The Pete Kokinis Baseball League (formerly Vantis Life Baseball League) is open for play! We are returning with a Fall season, the first in League history. We welcome teams who formerly played in the Central Connecticut Fall Ball League (CCFBL) and look forward to getting back out on the diamond!

We have created a set of guidelines for returning to play. Please review this document carefully and let us know if you have any questions. All teams MUST adhere to these guidelines or risk removal from the league. The guidelines are available here and, on our website.

Registration is now open through August 9. We will then determine if we have enough teams to run a given division (developmental or competitive) within an age group and, if necessary, decide which division will survive. Teams will have the opportunity to drop out of the league or change divisions.

·        Transitional – for the players coming up from Little League or Babe Ruth (age 12) who have never played on the 90’ field. Emphasis on player development. Continuous batting and free defensive substitution.

·        Developmental (Blue Division) – for recreational teams, town developmental teams, and non-competitive teams. Junior (13-14) and Senior (15-18) age groups.

·        Competitive (Red Division) – for travel teams, All Star teams, AABC teams, AAU and similar teams and any team that wants to play competitive baseball. NFHS rules will be used with an Extra Hitter instead of a DH (see our Playing Rules document). Junior (13-14) and Senior (15-18) age groups.

In addition to the normal player waiver on our Registration Card, all participants; players, coaches, and volunteers, must sign the Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability document. This document must be submitted to the League office by every players, coach, and adult volunteer before that person can participate in any team activity. THIS IS MANDATORY. The documents are part of the Registration Packet available here and in the documents section of our website. Registration material is due before your first game.

Please read the Administrative and Playing rules, posted on our website under 2020 Fall Ball. They contain important information about the season.

All players must wear the League patch on their right sleeve. Most teams silk-screen the logo. A file is available in the Documents section of our website. We also have iron-on patches available at no charge.

New League Logo and Patch

New League Logo & Patch

With our new name we have a new logo and League Patch, which must be on all uniforms.

We encourage all teams to silkscreen our patch onto shirts. The size of the patch is 3.5" by 3.5". A file is available for your uniform vendor in the Documents section of our website. Sew-on patches will be available at our League meetings, while suppiles last, at no cost.

Patches must appear on the right arm two inches up from the bottom of the sleeve. On a vest, the logo is worn on the right side opposite the heart.

League History

70 Years of Baseball History

The Pete Kokinis Life Baseball League prides itself on its philosophy that players should develop skills, develop an appreciation for the game of baseball, and, most importantly, to have fun. Thousands of Connecticut teens have helped make our League one of the largest and oldest independent baseball programs in the country. Below are some of the articles and artifacts we've gathered over the past 70 years. The collection is growing, if you'd like to contribute, please contact Dan Turkeltaub, dan.turkeltaub@gmail.com. Our League History page contains a list of alumni whom have gone on to Collegiate, Minor, and Major League success.
